Our mission

Buying a safe is confusing. Marketing terms hide the facts that matter: whether a safe has been independently tested, how it resists tools and fire, and how it should be installed. We explain those facts in plain language so anyone can choose a reliable home safe.

Editorial principles

Standards first. Our guides are based on published testing standards such as UL 687, UL 1037, UL 72, UL 768, EN 1143-1, EN 14450, EN 1047-1, EN 15659 and EN 1300.
No paid placements. We do not sell safes and manufacturers cannot pay to be featured.
Regular updates. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.
Corrections. If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it promptly.
